Mapping and sharing drives

I have a desktop running Windows 7 I have a partition of 750 Gig in size, I want to map it so I can use the info in it on a Vista laptop. However it won’t let me access it/map it from the Vista PC. Although it will let me share other partitions such as my image partition which is much smaller. I have 2 1TB drives & two partitions per drive. Is there a limit in size for a mapped drive & if so what is it. I have searched the web to no avail.

Windows 7 networking has a password protection that only works with other windows 7 machines to network with out versions of windows you will need to turn that off in network and sharing

No password protection on. I have other drives sharing. I really just want to know if there is a limit on drive size for sharing.
