Making a small program for opening a drive...

  Fateful Shadow 21:24 24 Nov 2006

I want one of my hotkeys on my laptop to open up my D:\ drive when I press it. However, whenever I try to allocate this to the hotkey, it won't allow me to set it just as the destination. It will only allow .exe files to be used.

Is there a small script I can create to open my D:\ drive when it is clicked?

Sorry if this sounds a bit confusing. It's friday and I'm tired =P

Thanks =]

There was a program on a PCA cover disk a few years ago called sesame.exe - I no longer have it and I realise that this is no use to you whatsoever - unless you are a hoarder of coverdisks.

If I hoarded all of the cover disks that my family and I have collected over the years, we would've needed an extension by now.

Make a short cut and set that as the openable file. It works on my acer laptops hot keys.

The phrase the configuration manager gives me is "Launch Application," so it's looking for an exe I think. There's no "Open Location" option or similar =[

make the shortcut `Explorer D:`

et voila

c:\windows\Explorer.exe if you are forced to specify the location of Explorer

Make a short cut in quick launch. It should allow you to browse for a file to open. You can try trick it to thinking the short cut is an exe by changing the file name.
