I cant remember how to make media player my default player in win 98se can anyone help please, current player is a yamaha cd playerThanks
I can't remember if Windows 98SE has the Set Program Access and Defaults link from the Start menu, but that's the easy XP way.
Open up Windows Media Player, and click onto "Tools->Options".Now click onto each tab (as I haven't used Win98 for a few years) and look out for the "file types" option. Tick ALL file formats that WMP supports and click OK.
In Windows Explorer hold the shift key down, Right click the sound or video file you want to associate with MP Tick the box always open with and select MP from list
You can also download the latest version of Windows Media Player from click hereIt is WMP9 for Win98, WinME and Win2k.
mattyc_92 all the play pause items are greyed out, but have selected all formats as suggested but soon as cd is put in cd-rom it defaults to the Yamaha player
Have you tied downloading the latest version from the link I provided?
I will try that when I get the internet connection sorted out, thanks again
