make audio file smaller

Is it possible to reduse the size of an audio file i.e mp3, this is why I have some mp3`s home made band music no copyright infringments made i wish to burn them to cd but they are to big for cd 20 min total. all in total 90 minutes i would like to fit them on one cd insted of two cd`s with out compramising the audio/sound quality is this possible i have nero 6 if it helps also if i can convert them to another smaller format wich will play on home cd player would be great

Look here click here they are for mp3 players, but may work on cd`s

If you copy them to a CD as MP3, they will play on most DVD players, but not on CD players, use nero to burn to 2 CD's as audio files(at about 20p each, they are cheap enough)
