I'm sorry if this has been posted before, I am not usually the first, but I can find no ref to this one which requires a restart.

Thanks!

Thanks for your alert.
Readers should note that this update requires
1 - Update the updater
2 - Reboot machine
3 - Reconnect to internet
4 - Re-run updater in a2 for a "cumulative base signature update"
and it takes a few minutes to download on dial-up so i presume it's a biggie.
Updates to 6 scanner plug-ins and 27595 signatures but no malwares found after re-run of scanner.
Just to highlight the double whammy update required!

Thanks. My updates required TWO restarts but it is worth it as there is a new a2 guard working in the background.

You must be using A² Personal, there is no background gaurd on A² Free version.

You are right my friend I am using a2 Personal.

I thought I was missing something. I ticked the beta box in personal license, but when I updated and tried to scan It stopped responding. I tried all dfferent ways but eventually went back to the standard version.

Oops! I forgot that most people use the free version.
