I have started having problems with using any "emailto:" links in internet explorer 6. Clicking the link results in loads of new windows opening until the PC grinds to a halt. The only course of action then is to reboot it.
It has been suggested that this problem may be related to installing MS Office XP which makes sense as I have done that recently. Unfortunately the person who gave me that info could not suggest a fix. I am using Windows 98.

What are the Windows exactly, and which email client are you using - Outlook Express, or Outlook?

A email message should open on clicking on an address ( mailto ), you might be prompted for a profile to use if outlook is not running, but that's it.

Does this happen on every site or just on a particular one ?

If outlook is not set up and has accounts specified then all sorts of other panels start showing up, could that be it???
