Lower Ghz on CPU

Recently had a complete failure on hdd which meant it had to be replaced. Replaced hdd and re-installed XP and all other things needed. Before failure 'dxdiag' told me that present cpu was at 2.08 ghz. After completing new setup 'dxdiag' tells me system is running at 1.7 ghz. Cpu is AMD K7 Athlon XP 2800+ and mbd is a K7N2 MS-6570 ATX with 400w psu. Can anyone tell me why this has happened and how can I bring it back up to 'speed' or higher? Any helpers out there pls?

Sounds as if your FSB is running at 133 instead of 166 (166 x 12.5 = 2075) (133 x 12.5 = 1662) check your mobo jumpers if present, or more likely your bios FSB needs to be set, look in your mobo manual for details.
