Low on Virtual Memory

  K*B 05:51 05 Feb 2007

Hello friends. My pc OS is Win XP Pro and is a client on an enterprise network. I'd left it on over the past weekend, which I usually do. When I came to it this morning there was the following message on the monitor.

"Your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file. During this process, memory requests for some applications may be denied."

Then there was an option to click "Yes" to cancel the program or click "Cancel" to debug.
I just clicked "Yes" to cancel the program, restarted the pc, as I usually do first thing in the mornings, and started using the pc for my work.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong here? What exactly does the message mean? And, what is the most appropriate action to be taken in this case? Thanks in advance.
