After switching my PC on after if being off for a weekend I was suprised to hear the loud vibrating noise. Over a couple of days this was getting louder and louder then when I booted up the PC said Warning Your PC Chip fan fail. I switched off and gave PC a good clean on the inside. However PC still makes louds vibrating noises.
Can anyone please advise.

Replace the fan pronto and don't use the system in between.

It just might be the fan catching on its housing, but better to be sure as the cost is vastly lower than an new AMD Athlon.

You will also need some thermal paste; spread a very thin layer on the fan where it fits the CPU after cleaning away as much as possible of the original.

Sounds (if you'll pardon the pun) as if the bearing on your cpu fan has gone. You should replace this as soon as possible or you could end up with a fried cpu. ou may find these useful
