Lost pictures

  Maryp 09:36 12 Nov 2005

I've got lots of pictures stored on floppy disks from a few years ago, and I wanted to find one. So I put one disk in and found a picture, then I tried another, and then went back to the 1st. but when I put the 1st one in for a second time, it says its blank, the pictures have gone. It didn't say it was deleting them, I just closed the window and took the disk out.
Any idea what happened, and can I get the pictures back?

If you put the disc back in and go to My Recent Documents you may still access them, if however the disc has been wiped, then they are lost.

That is why with floopies it was always advised to open the small cover to prevent this happening

You could try recovering them from the disk with this free utility click here

There is another free utility which VoG™ recommends for floppy disk drives but I can't remember it. He might see this thread and prompt his memory. The above utility is good but can be complex for newbies, if your not so new then you should be fine.
