Lost Hard Drive

  CDL 20:59 04 Feb 2008

Just overwitten my laptops ( a Toshiba with Toshiba hard drive), HD with zeros (erased)to do a clean reinstall with Windows. Windows install unpacks the device drivers and is ready to install. I click Enter but Windows cant see a drive.
I used Killdisc to do the erase. I've tried various utilities (Hirens Boot CD) to find the drive - some do and some dont, but stll Windows cant see the drive.

Any suggestions please.

CDL, you need to download the relevant hard drive utility from Toshiba to prepare your drive for use. As it stands, you hard drive has no boot sector/MFT/file system on it and that's why Windows can't "see" it.

You can see if the relevant s/w is available from Toshiba click here

Hello dagwood ! Sorry for the late response - other events took over. Thanks for the help;yes I got the necessary from the Toshiba site and that did the trick.
Thanks again.
