hi again
i hope you all can help again
i have just suffered a system craash
i got home from work to find my screen black and a message saying to reboot pc.
when i tried i got a message saying boot disc error insert system disk etc.
this i did but to no avail.
i tried the repair prompt on my xp disc
and i thought its no good i must reinstall my windows. i have my os on a 40gb drive but most of my data saved on a 2nd 120gb drive.
i was under the impression that it would re- format the 40gb drive and reinstall itself onto it.....it didnt, it installed to the 120gb one....i have lost 4 yrs of work and my wife has just completed her nursing diploma...a lot of info from that was on there....is there any way i can retrieve them.
all help will be seriously appreciated.
i have an evesham machine
1.3 athlon
512mb ddr ram
a clear 120gb (all but windows xp home on it)
13gb free on the original c drive

Did you format the drive before you install xp?

Try click here - run it off the 40 GB file to look for files on the 120 GB drive.
