Hi,I have just changed my old 40GB drive to an new 250GB drive using Acronis. No probalem all works great BUTWindows has lost my back up drive. It's a 120GB Maxtor and was working 100% before the upgrade to the main drive. It is detected in BIOS, all the run through screens and in device manager I just cannot access it through my shortcuts and it does not show in My Computer.I have tried various jumper and BIOS setting combos and they are now both on auto in bios and cable select jumpers on a ultra ATA cable.Help, all my important stuff is on the "safe" drive.CheersSean
Maxtor as a secondary drive do not usually need jumpers (mine doesn't) if it has a jumper take it off and try again..
Sorted thanks.I did this for anyone wanting to know:Right Click "My Computer" go to DISC MANGEMENT and assigned the old drive letter that for reason was not there anymore. This could be due to the fact I had to remove the drive physically to carry out migration.
