Although everything is working fine, I have lost the 'Fixed disk' entry in the 'My Computer' window.Any clues anyone how to restore it?Windsor
Right Click My Computer\Properties\Manage\Disc Management check there for the disc
Do you mean that your C: isn't showing?Which OS, and have you tried system restore?
If you are using XP download TweakUI - then open it and click on My Computer(in the program) and Drives then tick the drives you want to see.click here
Sorry - should have said EXPAND My Computer (click + sign) then click on Drives
Thanks for your suggestions - however to no avail. The disk id's are also missing in Device Manager.Any other suggestions would be very welcome. By the way, I have tried restoring - no luck either.
If you have a Full OS Disc, run SFC /SCANNOW from run box note Space before / failing that do a repair with the OS disc
I have tried it all - with no success. So have reluctantly re-entered Windows and all is now well - thank God!
