Losing internet access every few minutes

I have WinXPHome SP2. Just got broadband and am using a Belkin ADSL modem with Wireless-G Router and network card in the PC/.

After much messing around I now have (almost) everything working OK, BUT I would really appreciate some further advice. When I am using the internet all is working but when I stop actually downloading pages, then the connection often (but not always) drops.

The only way to reconnect is to "repair" or to go to "view available wireless networks" then "change advanced settings", then "wireless networks" tab and tick the box "use Windows to configure my wireless network settings". This setting is not retained after a computer restart, although Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services shows the Wireless Zero Configuration as 'Automatic'.

Can anyone please help me with this annoying difficulty. Thanks, pete999
