I have an old DELL Inspiron 3700 laptop which occasionally loses the date & time settings - I have to re-enter the details on the laptops set-up settings (it's BIOS??).The laptop batteries no longer support power so the laptop is only operational when connected to mains power. Are the date & time settings being lost due to the lack of power in the batteries or is there some other reason for this problem?Any help appreciated
Hi, not so familiar with laptops, but desktops have a battery on the motherboard, may be the same on laptop. A small battery the size of a 1p.
Technotiger - can you get/replace this battery? If so how can I find out what battery I require?
I'm sorry, that I don't know - though it is very easy on a desktop pc. Hopefully someone else will be able to say.Good luck.
