What happened there?

  pj123 14:35 01 Dec 2003

I think the FE blocked it as it was getting out of hand. I am all in favour of the FE controlling the threads and stopping, deleting or blocking them as he sees fit. It would just be nice to have a message from the FE to that effect though.

  Diodorus Siculus 16:20 01 Dec 2003

Well, if it was closed, a posting saying why would be good.

  pj123 17:29 01 Dec 2003

Yes, I agree with you but I didn't close it, so I can't say why it was closed.

  Legolas 19:05 01 Dec 2003

Ah Big Brother is alive and well.

  pj123 14:06 02 Dec 2003

Yes, in the shape of FE. I would still like to know why though. Doesn't seem to be anything controversial on the original thread to me.

  Djohn 16:03 02 Dec 2003

Fourth post down wandered off the track and could be construed as liable unless proved beyond doubt. j.

  Salinger 16:08 02 Dec 2003

If it was construed as libellous, it would have been easier to delete that post without locking the thread.

  Djohn 16:13 02 Dec 2003

Good point.Only FE can tell pj in the end as to why it was locked, but maybe because it was wandering off subject, only a guess. j.

  Belatucadrus 17:10 02 Dec 2003

Not meant to be libellous, more a question, I haven't been to Sheffield for nearly twenty years and back then there was a pub of the same name that reputedly appealed to a certain clientele. I was just surprised to see that this appeared to still be the case. If it caused any offence let FE know, I have no objection to it being pulled. As has already been stated definitely a bit off topic.

This thread is now locked and can not be replied to.
