LOGON lament

  Novis 13:11 17 Aug 2005

When I start up MS Windows XP Pro I get a logon screen which, as I'm the only user on this

computer, I dont need. How can I delete it. I've tried My Computer > User Accounts > but

cant5 find a relevant option notto have a Welcome Screen.

This problem has resulted since running Norton SystemsWorks

Also how can I change the name 'User 1' as I'm the only user?

click here If you download Tweakui, you can bypass the log on screen using that.

to change the name go to control panel-user accounts, and click on the account you wish to change, then click on change name.

Accounts options ---Turn on/off the "Welcome" page when you start up
Type "control userpasswords2" in run box

to turn on automatic logon without tweakui.

Start, Run, type

control userpasswords2

and click OK. Highlight the account and untick "Users must enter a Username and password...". Click Apply.

I'm now intrigued - what else will Tweakui do that might be useful?

I've used the Run option to respolve the problem.
