login to connect to computer over peer to peer

I have A computer which I run everything off, e.g Sahred Documnts, printers e.t.c. I do this over a peer to peer network. The computer runs windows 2000 sp4, Everytime I try to access anything on that computer, It asks for the administrator username and password. Then it does not do this untill the next time I boot the computer. None of my other computers on the network do this. Please could someone advise me on how to stop this from happening?

Are all your other computers running off the main one, or are they connected via a router.

Are you logged on as the Administrator?, or has someone else set it up, and not given you the master Administration codes?.

If you are running XP,log in as Administrater, create a network disk (Floppy), then go to each machine in turn, and run the disk.
This will make sure that all machines are linked.

(Should be here click here)

Although it does not occur universally, this is expected behaviour in most mixed networks, particularly where Win 2000 is in use on one client. It is intended to authenticate user access.
