Local Disc C

I was getting the message that my C drive was full so I decided to delete some of the old files. But with a lot of them I kept getting the message...Cannot delete access is denied...Make sure the disc is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use.I have managed to clear a lot of space but I could make more if I I knew what that message meant...Any ideas anyone

It could be that the programs start as windows starts. Type msconfig in the run box and pick the startup tab. See if they are listed and ticked, if they are, un-tick them and reboot the computer. Then try and delete them from add and remove programs.

Also look at your system restore size, it takes 12% of your hard drive space. You only need around 1gb of space for it, so if system restore is using more, you could ajust the slider and reclaim that space.

It might be worth getting an external hard drive, they are very cheap now, to give you extra space in the long run.

the Recycle Bin.

Deleted the Temporary Internet Files.

Cleared the Cookies and Run Disk Cleanup.

Have you looked at the Properties of the Files you are trying to delete?

As you have Deleted some stuff. What/Which Files are causing the problem?
