local area connection problem

  john 08:41 16 Jun 2005

I have my home laptop connected to aol broadband using adsl. I don't have any other computers networked. Everythings seems to wotk ok.
There is an annoying pop up box from the taskbar that tells me that, local area connection 2 has limited or no connectivity and that a network cable may be unplugged.
Anyone know how I can sort this out please.

do you perhaps have a second network card enabled? Go to system - device manager and click view hidden devices and the network card plus sign. If you have another one listed click on it and uninstall it.
