Local Area Connection

Due to a need to move Pc the link cable between the 2 PC`s in my house was removed and replaced on relocation.
Since then both PC show the message " a network cable is unplugged". Despite using the network wizard this message has remained and the statement that the cable is unplugged seems to prevent setting up the connection.

As the cable was unplugged for only minutes I find it hard to believe that it is now faulty. Is there any method by which I could test the cable or has anyone a suggestion as to the cause of the unplugged cable message

make sure that lead is fully seated at both ends of the cable, there are tools to test cables but i think you will find that the RJ45 cable hasn't fully been seated.

I would Go into internet connections and make sure the lan connection hasn't been disabled.

I would make sure the NIC card is seated correctly, as this may have come loose in the move.
