"Loading ..." warning - how?

  peabody 12:43 07 Jun 2004

I need to create a "Loading - please be patient" warning on a web page - it has to download about 70 thumbnail pictures before it renders (nothing much I can do about this)and takes a while.

Can I please have some advice as to how I display such a warning which will then disappear once the page renders?

Many thanks.

fourm member is right - there's nothing quite like a "loading" message to make me go elsewhere. Give me something to look at whilst the thumbnails load and I'm happy, in fact I'll wait far longer than the oft-quoted 8 seconds, but offer me a loading message and I won't wait at all.

Thanks - I guess I'll have to persuade the customer to let me reduce the content. Cheers all.

if you cant - then....

Create a page, with a preload script and after of which it redirects.
