A little mistake ( desktop)

  muddypaws 18:44 07 Jun 2007

My IE shortcut on the desktop went dead so I did a restart that didn't cure it.
I deleted the shortcut, opened Google browser from the start menu.
I right clicked on the Google logo and, thinking it might create a shortcut, selected ' make Google a desk top item'.
I now have a big fuzzy Google logo over 90% of the screen with all my shortcuts in the margin.
Tried a restore in safe mode--wouldn't do it.
There doesn't appear to be anyway to undo my mistake.
Or is there??
Appreciate any help please.

Can't you simply delete the "big fuzzy Google logo" by right clicking on it and selecting delete?

If only!!
tried that--no delete option.
I have dragged all the short cuts back into place, but still got the big fuzzy Google.
Can you tell me how to get a short cut to IE back again.
Thanks for your reply.

Alternatively has the "big fuzzy Google logo" set itself as your desk top wallpaper?

If so, go to Control Panel; Appearance and Themes and put back your preferred wallpaper.

To re-install an IE shortcut go to Start; All Programs. Right click on Internet Explorer and select 'Send To' and 'Desktop (create shortcut)'

I just beat you -- I got the IE shortcut back via Control Panel/Display/ Desktop
( I think).
No it hasn't replaced my desktop picture. It appears I can still change that, but the b----y Google fuzz is over 90% of it!!

I agree with Jackcoms, desktop item is likely to be wallpaper.

Sorry - run out of ideas.

Perhaps you now need to do a Google search for "how to get rid of a big fuzzy Google logo"?? ;-))

Sorted it.
I discovered that it would drag down in size, revealing the 'x' top right. Clicked on that and bang it went.
Just hope it doesn't reappear on start up.
Thanks for your help.
You never think of the easy way out!!!!!!
