I have Mint9 on two pcs, alongside XP, now i want to load it onto a new laptop to run as an alternative to still sluggish on 2gb ram windows 7, but but it keeps freezing...it starts to load as normal, then freezes on the same line each time.......when i boot up now i even get the 'choose O/S' screen, but the Mint option simply goes nowhere :(........i've tried two different Mint cds, result exactly same......any ideas anyone ?

Does it run in live mode from the CD?

I prefer to load from a USB stick. If you have Mint on another machine you can create USB using UNetbootin

As you may know, Linux Mint is a derivative of Ubuntu and so this may help: click here

If it's not a video problem, please post the line it's freezing on, as otherwise, we're just probing in the dark.
