When I try to open a link, on any email, the cursor hand appears with a NO GO SIGN next to the small finger of the hand, placed on the link address.

You have a pop-up blocker turned on, turn it off and you can click on the links....TT

If you have XP and SP2, then launch Internet Explorer and click on the Tools menu....TT

I have the continuing problem that I cannot open any threads or links.
Terminator suggest I have a pop-up blocker on.
He suggested Tools menu and turn of the blocker. I did-as far as I could- and it did get rid of a NO GO sign by the hand when clicking on a link. But still no joy in opening any threads or links..
Can any one help please. I am a PC novice.

1. Quit all programs that are running.

2. Click Start, and then click Run.

3. Type

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

and then click OK.

4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.

If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file names below):

I did all suggested by you VoG and Terminator.
Un worked for me until I did a System Restore..

See what 10 days in a hospital bed does for a PC!!
I'm better though (perspective!)
I am puzzled as no one else has access to my PC.
How-ever thanks for all the advice.
No doubt I'll be back!?
