I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me whether there is a way to link the files in C drive (Documents and Settings) with My Documents in the user profile?
About 10 days ago, I inadvertently created a fresh profile for my existing user profile and so, when I log in, My Documents holds what you find in a basic new profile setting.
However, the files are still in Documents and Settings on the C Drive and accessible there.
I seem to have broken the link between them so that my user profile is not looking to the C drive for the contents of My Documents.
Once before, when Outlook corrupted an earlier profile, I was able to follow Microsoft's guide to transferring files from one profile to another.
But this time it's not a case of transferring to a different profile.
(Or should I create yet another profile for myself?)
Afterthought: Actually there was one snag when I transferred what was in Docs& Settings because the Favorites, my Outlook stuff, as well as my changes to Windows settings didn't 'migrate' so I'd also like to know how to avoid that, if it's possible.
