On-line w/Laptop

I do not own a laptop/notebook (what's the diff anyway), but am just curious - how is one capable of going on-line while sitting on the beach? (as shown on the advert). Is there a little modem connection in the back-side of a resident crab, or what? I'd be interested to know how this works just in case I get the 'must-have' syndrome. Casey

Notebook/laptop - different names for the same thing.

"Is there a little modem connection in the back-side of a resident crab, or what?"

No. But there is a wireless card in most notebooks/laptops these days which, if there is a wi-fi hotspot on said beach, the laptop can use to connect to - and you pay for the pleasure.

Or connect to a mobile phone and again pay for the pleasure

And both are expensive.

Stick to using your landline at home! ;-))
