Latest Flash update will not work

  birdface 16:54 23 Mar 2011

Thought that I would update to the latest Flash player update so removed my old update first using Revo Uninstaller then downloaded the update which went well.
Except it does not work or show in IE8 add-ons.
Using Windows 7 and using the 32 bit version of I/E.It shows as downloaded in add remove.
Fed up trying it but keep getting the same question you need Flash installed to watch Video do you want to install it.
I have tried downloading it from different sites and in safe mode but it makes no difference.
I can download and use it in Firefox but not I/E.
Just recently removed IE9 and gone back to IE8 so not sure if that may be the problem.

No, I've got exactly the same problem when trying to use my HP Scanner

IE or Firefox, uninstall flash and reinstall makes no difference

Obviously a cock up somewhere

It works ok for me in Firefox although I have it uninstalled at the moment.
My problem is with I/E8.
Not a problem for me but the Grand kids prefer I/E when visiting.

Mine updated this morning to version 10.2 and seems to be working OK in IE7

It works ok for me in firefox as well, but my HP scanner doesn't like it and has refused to work until I install Adobe Flash Player

Been there, done that, still no action on the HP front!

Hi mooly tried them all in different ways even in safe mode and removing them completely using Revo.
But no luck I am afraid.
Looks like 691 has the same sort of problem so not sure what to try next.

Could try unloading Flash, going to Adobe site and downloading previous version

  birdface 09:07 24 Mar 2011

Yes tried all that and still the same.
Just a bit annoying that I cant get it to work on I/E and can with Firefox.
But it gives me something to do to pass the time.

  birdface 01:00 25 Mar 2011

Managed to download the 64 bit version of flash player but still cannot get the 32 bit version to work.
I only use the 32 bit version so still stumped as to why I cannot get it to work.
Tried everything I can think of with no success which is not a lot.
Anyone has any ideas on how to fix it feel free to join in.

Have you had a look at these

An older version was working OK was it?

Didn't Flash Player's own recommended uninstaller work, is that why you used Revo?
"Be sure to close all messenger programs as well as the browser before running the uninstall program", advice seen on a site.
