Tosh gets good reviews - have a look at Hardware reviews online. Watch the cheaper types with flexi keyboards. I've got an IPC and they're pretty good - you find when you read the mags that there are a number of standard "laptop bodies" into which there appears to be a limitless combination of components. Items to watch (depending on what you want it for) are Processor/battery life, quality of build, hard drive capacity, CD-R capability (if you want to use it as a store for digi photos or tape while on the move) and WEIGHT! Some come with a carry case but you may find you'll never use it if it proclaims in bold letters on the outside the maker's name - which broadly translates to Steal Me!
