Laptop Wont Boot!!

while connected to its docking station.

My friend is using a DELL laptop but when its connected to the docking station it wont boot.

However when its not on the docking station it will boot fine.

Has anyone any ideas? Is it a power to the docking station issue?

Is there an external HDD attached to the docking station? If so this could be the reason.

No. Theres no external HDD

What else is attached to the docking station? If nothing of significance check the BIOS for the boot order and disable options you don`t require. One of them will probably be a USB option or a network option.

Came across somebody with a similar prob recently, laptop not booting when connected to some device. And all I can remember is that the solution involved the "Power Scheme" settings. You get there by right-clicking the desktop>properties>select screen saver tab. at bottom click "Power" button and then you are in power schemes
