I have an 18 month old medion sim 2000 laptop running xp home that is refusing to boot. I get thr XP page then get a page which gives me 5 options to highlight: safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command propmpt, last known configuration ans start windows normally. I have tried all these yet it just goes bsck to the same screen.

If you have the Medion Recovery CD, Start your computer with it. And click on the first top choice out of the three, if that does not work click on the next one down.

Will that cause anything to be lost?

NO, Only if you choose the Full Back to as Manufacturers. That is the no 3\ Option. Read what it says when you boot with the Disc. I have two Medion PC Desktop and Laptop
