Laptop and Wireless

This is probably a stupid question but.........
I have just bought a new Toshiba laptop which is wireless enabled, how do I connect it to a wireless router? I know that most people who go wireless have multiple Pc/Laptops connected but I only want this one laptop to be connected. Can somebody explain what to do in really simple terms?

Assuming you have a wireless network in your house , or you have access to a free network ( coffee shop , office etc. ) you do a scan for wireless networks , find yours ( or the one you are targeting ) double click on it , enter any pass phrase or security key it asks for , then click on " connect " Toshiba have their own version of connection software called " Config Free " you can do the scan from there click here and see what Toshiba say .
