Laptop and video splitter

  ramsay29 15:23 09 Mar 2005

I use a laptop (mesh) running xp(home) at work with a Vga video splitter and booster to strengthen the signal between laptop and sound system some 40 feet away from projector. has worked ok for about 18 monnths. Now it has stopped functioning. The cables and splitter are all working as it works with a desktop. Must be something to do with the laptop, but as far as i am aware nothing has changed.

Anybody had similar experience or offer advice.

Assuming that the splitter takes the sound from a convential jack socket on the laptop, have you checked that the laptop can drive a conventional external speaker pair?

convential = conventional
