Trying to source a Acer laptop for this specification below prefer Acer brand. Can it be done ? Or a reliable other brand

Whats the nearest specification at least.

2GHz Intel not the weaker Celeron or M model CPUs, 2GB Memory, fair size 120GB+ HDD, preferably 17" screen, sensible graphics to run something like second life or penguin for the younger one.

I have found Acer brand similar with a 1.6GHz Duo core & 17" but prefer higher like 2GHz. how much a 1.6GHz performance drop would this have I don't know.

Can any forum user help please.

Link not working.

What I am trying to get is 17" screen with a 2GHz CPU prefer Duo core Intel. I have seen a Acer with a 1.67GHz Duo Core 17" Acer Gemostone on Amazon but think a 1.67 maybe a little sluggish.

These Centrino Duo core Processors worry me I see them as Celerons the weaker intel processors. Are Centrino anything I should steer clear of maybe?

Looking like to get a 17" screen and 1.8GHz - 2.0GHz Duo Core under £400 may be a struggle. Spent weeks looking, there was one but it sold out and has been for a few weeks. just checked out PCA reviews and nothing in there.

definately a good idea to try and find a few reviews when you find one you like.

doesn't seem possible for spec and price so I will close my post in an hour, and go for the 15.4" with a 1.8GHz. Thanks for spending some time looking, appreciate it.
