A VGA cable should do the trick, it's what I used with my laptops.

but would you also get the sound with the VGA cable ???

You will only get a Picture via a VGA cable.

A quick look at the instruction manual shows that your Laptop may have a HMDI socket. If your Laptop and TV have a HMDI connection, connect via HMDI cable this should allow picture and sound but you may have to change a setting to allow for sound.

The first step is to inspect both your laptop and TV and identify the connections, easily located on the back of either component. There are five basic types of jacks, or ports involved:

*Composite/phono plug (RCA)

*S-Video

*Video graphics array (VGA)

*Digital video interface (DVI)

*High-definition multimedia interface (HDMI)

You need a sound cable from the earphone socket to TV. VGA is only good for Film or Pictures, not good for using as a PC monitor. You will not like how text is displayed
