LAPTOP SCREEN - negative

Need some advice please....... a friends laptop screen is showing all screen displays in a 'negative' fomat.... ie : as if you were looking at a old film negative. This includes all types of output... web pages, desktop etc
Any ideas why this has happened, is there a solution or just any comments please

Sounds like something up with the graphics (says he stating the obvious).

Do you know the make / model of the laptop or the type of graphics adaptor?

The Laptop is a Futjitsu Siemens Amilo Pro Edition V3505 Wl2 with a Intel 1.6 GHZ Core Duo

Contrast and brightness,re adjusting these can get it to 'flip' back to normal.

Think I will try to connect laptop to another monitor and see if thats ok and then that would show if it's a monitor or maybe graphics card problem ....maybe ??

will prove screen/graphics chip possibilities.
Downloading/reinstalling graphics drivers is another possibility
