I am attempting to get an old Fujitsu LifeBook 765Tx laptop to work for my uncle. When my Uncle got the laptop, it did not have a transformer, so after receiving one from Fujitsu's company, I plugged it in and started up the laptop by first moving the switch to on and then pressing the button below the monitor to boot up the laptop.
I expected the laptop to then show some sign of life, which it partially did. The CD drive could be heard spinning and the machine obviously started up, but there was nothing on the screen and no motherboard beeps (although I am not sure whether this is to be expected on laptops).
Am I doing something wrong for the monitor not to work or is there something wrong with the laptop?
There is often a key combination to toggle between the LCD and external displays. On Toshiba machines it is function + f5 On Samsung ones (mone at least) it is function + f3. There may be a sequence of several screen options available.
