LAPTOP: Dell Inspiron 6000
Please can I be guided as to how to reset a laptop screen that did not show up but could see that the system boot and the window logo appearing in the backgroung. The screen is not broken and there is no dead pixel indication on the screen. This laptop will show clearly if connected with the desktop monitor.
Thank You

It could be that the backlight in the screen has gone so it may need replacing. Laptops use LCD screens that will only show up when they are lit from behind but you can still make out what's on the screen if light shines on it from the front. The good news is it's only a light that will need changing, so it shouldn't be too expensive to get done.

Yes sounds as if back-light or inverter has failed.

Are you going to attempt the repair yourself or take the laptop in for repair?
