Laptop : Intermittent boot-up

I have a Samsung P28 laptop Celeron 1.3 processor; 512mb ram / 60 gb hard disc with XP Pro installed. It will sometimes boot normally but generally crashes after anything between 2 minutes and 3 hours. Sometimes it will not boot at all - or freezes during start up. I have tried going into the bios - but again the system freezes up. I have reformatted the hard drive/reinstalled XP and have replaced the motherboard but the fault persists. Could the fault lie with the processor?

Possibly !

Maybe a change of ram would suffice here,or check the ram for errors using Memtest click here download memtest, burn to disc and boot from the disc.

Also consider overheating, are the fans working ok and clear ?

Could even be a dying hdd im afraid.

Just a thought, check the drive for errors by running chkdsk click here
