I have a HPPavilion dv6000 Media edition with windows XP. My problem is when i boot it up it comes up with the toolbar at the bottom of the screen includes DVD music picture/photo and windows these are all access buttons. Trouble is when i click on Windows to boot into windows it comes up with the windows logo then goes straight into hibernate and switches off. I cant seem to be able to stop this, i can not get into windows to disable this. Any help please.

"No option comes up to enter BIOS"

Either Del,F1,F2?,it should state when the POST screen appears.

You could try the HP web site for the required imfo.

No iqs no option comes up. Briefly the post screen appears, no options on screen. Then straight into hibernation and off it goes.

I think you may not be trying the best way to access the BIOS.

You must start tapping right from the moment you switch the power on.
It is too late even before the first splash Windows screen.

If you try tapping F2 or failing that, try the Delete key will take you to the BIOS screens and the menu.

If you know how to change the BIOS settings - fine but if not, post back here again.

Extract from the HP Compaq site support section

"When the HP or Compaq logo appears, press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup "
