Laptop HDD locked in bios please help

hi, my friends toshiba satellite L500-19X laptop had lock in bios which i have unlocked by reseting it but than it asked for hdd password as well. he does not know the password and i am afraid that even if he buys a brand new hard drive the laptop mobo will lock it as well.the password is set in bios and cant be changed without existing password. if anyone knows how to unlock it please let me know. the bios is Phoenix by the way. thank you

I don't know if a "factory restore" would be the solution. I would suggest you wait for any other responses to this before proceeding.

that would not help but thank you. it looks like the lock is on the mobo chip as well so even if i replace hd for a new on it will get locked. myebe if someone had the same problem and solved it would help me. anyone who managed to ulock hd ???
