Laptop hard drive making more noise after cpu upgr

I have upgraded my laptops p4 cpu from 1.85-2.40ghz, the laptop runs alot faster but the hard drive makes more noise than it use to.
The hard drive is only 4200rpm so is it the new cpu pushing the hard drive to full speed.
Should I upgrade the hard drive to 5400rpm.

I wouldn't expect the hard drive to make any more noise, but the CPU fan might be running faster.

yes the fan does come on more often especialy during gaming

As far as I know, the hard drive will spin constantly at its design speed (4500 rpm). The only thing that should vary is the head movement. If the computer is running faster it's feasible that the head will move more often. The way to reduce this is to fit more memory and to keep the hard drive defragged.
