using a toshiba satellite U205-S5002 with win XP pro sp2 system. recently, the unit would freeze while working with some programs (i.e., windows media player, real player)and would resort to rebooting it again. used adaware and spybot to check for problems but it turned out negative.used laptop diagnostics program and it showed everything was alright.

any comment as to what's causing this and remedies that i can use? thanks

Type "laptop freezes" into Search forum and take your pick! Overheating is the most common problem but there are many others.

hi, my laptop did the same thing. in mine there were two fans. one blowing cold air onto my processor, the other sucking said air out. turned out the "out" fan was on its way out. got a new one from maplin and did the worth a try :)
