Hi Guys,
A friend of mine has problems booting an XP pro laptop. Firstly windows failed to shut down
options given were : safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode with command prompt
last known configuration
start windows normally.

Then whatever is suggested they get the following error, we apologize for the incontinence, but windows did not start successfully a recent hardware change may have caused this. No hardware has been added, this cycle just then repeats. Anybody have any clues how to break the cycle.

See if it will start in safe mode.Just keep tapping F8 as the computer starts. And if it lets him in try system restore.
