This is a Acer Aspire 5310. I have also tried to use some Acer Aspire 5315 Factory recovery/system discs for a Laptop. Which i thought would be compatible. But i keep getting a box come up with the following(Recovery 32 Type Mismatch)

Your Op system, drivers and setting were stored in an image file on your old hard drive.

You need to clone your old drive to your new drive

Hi Fruit Bat /\0/\

The old hard drive is broken and there is no chance of getting any data off it.

Borrow a windows disk and install using the windows key on the sticker on your laptop.

If you want to install XP for Acer Aspire 5310, before install all of drivers please make it sure that You have disabled AHCI mode in the Acer Aspire 5310 BIOS. This error found causes the hard drive doesnt support SATA AHCI Interface.

Download the drivers from click here

Your best bet now would be an imaging program such as Acronis True Image.
