Laptop Display Settings

A colleague has a Time Laptop with the following graphics adapter:-
Trident Cyberblade i7AGP (57) - software version 6.50.5495-27.57ICD

Drivers being used are trid_p3d.drv and trident.vxd (both version 4.11.01.2192)
together with vdd.vxd and vflat.vxd.

The problem is I need to set the display settings to 1024x768 resolution. However, every time I try to achieve this, none of the Icons resize, but the mouse will scroll sisde to side and up and down on the screen to display a bigger area.

Also, the Display option in Control Panel Display Settings shows the following TWO identical options as Display 1 and 2:
Default Monitor on Trident Cyberblade i7 AGP 57

I do not know if this is causing the problem, or how to delete, as it will never be used with two monitors.

Any assistance please
