Laptop Constantly Rebooting after BIOS

I have a problem with my laptop in that it is constantly rebooting after BIOS has loaded. It just gets stuck in an endless loop.

If I boot from Herin's boot CD I seem to be able to boot my laptop into Windows 7 normally. I also find that if my laptop is fully shut down it is fine next time I turn on. If the laptop goes into "sleep" or battery dies etc the problem is present.

What could be causing this?

Clearly you have a damaged boot file which a clean boot or the boot CD appears to avoid. Either way, you have a work-around while you sort out the problem. You may find this solves the problem more permanently:
