I recently purchased a new laptop from PC World which has Windows 8 on (recently upgraded myself to 8.1) and was set up in store by their 'Knowhow' team.
My laptop connects to the router fine (this is confirmed as I can access the laptop on other devices such as my old laptop or my smart TV) however there is either no internet access, or I have access for 2-3 minutes and then no further access.
If I connect to the router via an ethernet cable there are no issues at all and I have connected to my university wireless routers and routers at a friends house with no issues.
There are no issues when accessing the internet through the wireless with the other devices in my home so I'm assuming the issue lies with the wireless link between my laptop and router however after searching forums for this type of issue I haven't been able to fix the issue. I have already tried a few things however I'm happy to do these again and post the results if needed to cross fixes off the list.
If it helps, my laptop is a Samsung 5 series NP540U3C-AO2UK and the router is NetGear, provided by Virgin Media who also provide our internet.
