Laptop connectivity

Hi, I've already seen a posting similar to this one, but laptops are different so wanted to make sure. I have an orange wireless router connected to my desktop (xp)upstairs, but the connection to my laptop (vista) downstairs drops all the time, it's so frustrating. Also all of a sudden we can't get a connection on the wii downstairs either.. Can anyone help.

Dropped wireless connections are often due to interference with the radio signal and changing the Channel number in the router's wireless settings might help.
